Superstars Experience

Background

Superstars Experiences is a boutique UK‑based company headquartered in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, that specialises in crafting extraordinary, luxury experiences and high‑impact fundraising services. Founded in 2004, the business curates bespoke experience days, hospitality packages and once‑in‑a‑lifetime travel adventures designed to create lasting memories, while also providing tailored charity auction support that has helped raise millions for good causes. With a focus on premium service, creativity and attention to detail, Superstars combines unforgettable experiences with strong client relationships

My Role

I led the discovery, ideation, and delivery phases to redesign the website to support a seamless exploration and booking of luxury experiences. My work included analysing the company’s booking system, designing user journeys centred on customer needs, and creating a comprehensive design system to ensure consistency across their website.

The Challenge

Superstars aimed to improve their website to attract a luxury-buying audience while expanding into new offerings, including luxury gifting. The existing site lacked the e-commerce UX and interface capabilities needed to support these goals, making it difficult for users to discover products, explore gifting options, and complete purchases.

To address these challenges, a full UX approach was required: developing new personas, mapping user journeys, and enhancing the information architecture to support the expanded e-commerce functionality. Simultaneously, the interface needed a premium redesign, which led to the creation of a comprehensive design system to ensure consistency and a refined brand experience.

The challenge was to translate this updated brand vision into a cohesive digital experience for their website. The design needed to push the boundaries of cool, edgy aesthetics while still maintaining strong usability across both mobile and desktop devices.

Constraints

The main constraint for this project was adhering to the existing brand livery, which included approved colours, fonts, and imagery. All design decisions needed to align with these established brand elements to maintain consistency and reinforce brand recognition across digital assets.

The redesign also needed to support new e-commerce features while maintaining the brand’s premium, luxury feel. All solutions had to work across effectivly across desktop and mobile devices.

Research

During the discovery phase, I spoke with the Marketing Manager at Superstars Experience to get a clear understanding of their current business strategy and their new focus on enabling customers to buy luxury items directly through the website.

I also looked at competitors’ UX and UI to see how other brands were approaching e-commerce and to identify areas where Superstars could stand out.

At the same time, I reviewed Google Analytics to understand how people were currently using the site and where they were running into friction when making enquiries.

By combining what I learned from stakeholders, analytics, and competitor research, I was able to identify key usability opportunities and map out new user journeys. From there, I created personas for both the existing enquiry-focused customers and the new audience segments targeted for e-commerce purchases.

Ideation

After the discovery phase, I took each persona and mapped out their journey through the website, paying attention to key touchpoints for users who wanted to make enquiries or explore luxury experiences.

Using these journey maps, I suggested a revised sitemap and information architecture so the site would better support each persona’s needs and make it easy for users to move between related pages.

Next, I created high-fidelity wireframes with a mobile-first approach, showing how users would flow through the site to submit enquiries or complete purchases.

Once the wireframes were ready, I ran 1-to-1 walkthroughs with stakeholders to make sure each persona could navigate the site intuitively and easily reach the areas they needed.

Delivery

Once the high-fidelity wireframes were approved by the Superstars team, I moved on to developing the final user interface, keeping a luxury, premium feel front and center.

Using insights from competitor analysis, I created a clean, minimal UI inspired by the look and feel of well-known luxury brands.

During the delivery phase, I produced several key UX/UI assets, including a responsive UI design, an interactive prototype for stakeholder sign-off, and a comprehensive design system with reusable components, typography, colour guidelines, and layout patterns to keep the design consistent across the site.

I presented the interactive prototype to senior stakeholders, walking them through the user journeys and demonstrating how the interface supported each persona’s needs.

After approval, I handed over the design system, UI specifications, and annotated wireframes to the development team

Results & learnings

Following the successful launch of the new website, Superstars saw an 11% increase in experience enquiries, demonstrating that the redesigned user journeys and improved interface successfully engaged both existing and new customers.

A key learning from this project was the importance of maintaining rigorous quality control during the development phase. Ensuring that designs were implemented accurately and consistently across devices and platforms helped preserve the premium look and feel of the brand, avoid usability issues, and protect the integrity of the user experience.
