Who are Berkshire Maestros?

Berkshire Maestros was launched as Berkshire Young Musicians’ Trust in 1982, with a mission to run music lessons, groups and courses for children in Berkshire. The trust launched with a bang by holding a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Concerts there and at many venues across Berkshire became a regular fixture and still are today. Teaching instrumental and singing lessons still forms the backbone of the trust’s objectives, and last year over 4,000 Berkshire children benefitted from their music lessons and activities, despite most of these being held online. What makes us special is our staff. Their teachers are all highly qualified experts in their field. This means our tuition will always be the best, whether that’s early years groups, curriculum teaching, ensemble direction or vocal and instrument lessons. Their range of ensemble opportunities is unparalleled – from chamber groups and jazz bands to rock groups and full orchestras. Working with a range of partners allows us to broaden the musical horizons of their young people and offer learning opportunities in almost every musical genre. We want music to be for everybody, and in every community.
